What is personal data?
Personal data is data that makes it possible to identify a person. This includes your name, your home and/or email address, your date of birth, and your IP address.
How and for what purpose is data collected?
Data is collected and processed in different ways and for different purposes, depending on whether it concerns clients or website visitors.
a) Data processing for clients
In order to perform and process my services, I collect and store personal data that you voluntarily provide to me, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, and gender.
I process your personal data as part of the client relationship, to fulfil my contractual and other legal obligations.
b) Data processing for website visitors
You can visit my website without providing any personal information. Each time a website is accessed, the web server merely automatically saves a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, the name of the requested file, your IP address, the date and time of the access, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data), and documents the access. This access data is analysed exclusively for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of the site and improving my services. This serves to safeguard my legitimate interests, which predominate in the context of a balancing of interests, in a correct presentation of my services in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f DSGVO. All access data is only processed for as long as is necessary to achieve the above-mentioned processing purposes.
I also use cookies, in particular WordPress Comment, Gravatar, and Calendly, if you have given your consent to this when using my website. Cookies are small text files that are temporarily stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies I use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit and are not permanently stored on your end device. Other cookies are stored on your end device until you delete them (permanent cookies). These cookies enable me to recognise your browser on your next visit.
Social media plugins are integrated into my website to recommend and share posts on social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook etc. Data is only transferred to third parties when website visitors click on one of the icons displayed in the social media list. I have no influence on cookies that are set by social networks, nor do I have access to them.
The collection and processing of personal data is carried out to ensure the smooth operation of my website, and to analyse and improve my advertising presence. You can also adapt the setting of cookies via your browser settings or download a corresponding plugin.
Data processing for booking an appointment
I collect personal data if you provide it to me voluntarily when requesting an appointment. Mandatory fields are marked as such, as I need this data to confirm the appointment and create the horoscope, and you cannot send the appointment booking request without providing it. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms. Information in free text fields is voluntary and does not have to be filled in for the appointment request to be sent. Please refrain from providing sensitive data (e.g. health-related information, such as illnesses) in such free text fields.
I use the data you provide to book appointments and carry out consultations. After completion of the booked appointment, your data will be restricted for further processing and deleted after expiry of any retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless you have expressly consented that I further use your data or I reserve the right to use data beyond this, which is permitted by law and about which I inform you in this declaration.
How long is personal data stored?
I only store personal data for as long as I need it to fulfil the purposes described above and to fulfil my contractual or legal rights and obligations.
What rights do data subjects have?
You have the right to information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing as well as a right to correction, objection, data transfer, restriction of processing, and blocking or deletion of incorrect or unlawfully processed data.
You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. To assert your rights as a data subject (information, erasure, rectification, objection and/or data portability [unless data portability involves disproportionate effort]), please send an email to: vision@mariannerieger.com
Complaint to the data protection authority
If you are of the opinion that my processing of your personal data violates the applicable data protection law or your data protection claims have been violated in any other way, you can complain to the competent supervisory authority.
The competent supervisory authority is the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, email: dsb@dsb.gv.at
